When can I use stainless steel flue pipe?
Stainless steel flue pipe is suitable for use with applications using by gas, oil and solid fuel with flue gas temperatures not exceeding 540°C, up to 750°C short firing - it can withstand temperatures up to 1100°C. The seam on all parts is fully welded to minimise any chance of leakage. Components have been designed to be installed quickly, safely and simply. This stainless steel flue system is designed to be installed with the socket (the female coupling) directed upwards. The male spigot end must always point downwards. By fitting the parts together this way allows for debris and moisture to run back down the flue. The joint is sealed by sliding the quick action Joint Clamp Bands into position over the two raised swaged seams and closing the spring locking toggle.
Please note, stainless steel single wall flue is not suitable for use with oil condensing boilers.
Our stainless steel flue pipe conforms to BS6461 parts 1&2: 1984 for Appliances to Chimney Connections, and is suitable for domestic appliances using solid fuel. Compliance with BS5854: 1980.
