Gas Fires & Stoves

  • We are currently providing some of the more popular single and double door cast iron gas stoves on the market, with similar efficiency ratings to our wood burning stoves. Each of the stoves featured come with a 5 year manufacturer's warranty. It should be noted that it is required by law that the installation of the gas stove is carried out by a professionally qualified and accredited gas fitter (certified on the Gas Safe register). The flue will have to be inspected by a CORGI registered installer and passed as suitable and sound.

  • Before you install the gas stove you need to make sure the chimney breast is appropriately positioned to align with the flue outlet on the stove and the chimney stack is not sealed. The chimney does need to be in good condition where brickwork and masonry is not likely to breach the liner. A single walled chimney liner should be installed or a suitable class II gas flue used.

We recommend a minimum height of 600mm from the stove using single wall flue pipe before any change in the direction of the flue and a minimum overall height of 3 metres to ensure a good draw of air. A 90 degree bend pipe can be incorporated emanating out of a rear outlet of the gas stove, but is not preferable.

Some flue installation systems can be adversely affected by wind travelling over the top of the flue - this is particularly the case in exposed areas, subject to high winds and in this instance, it is recommended to incorporate an Anti-Downdraught chimney cowl.

  • As an alternative to using a single walled flue liner, twin walled flue pipe can be used; connecting to a single walled flue pipe (via an adapter) emanating from the outlet on the gas stove. See our installation notes on twin walled flue pipe.
