Installation and User Instructions (Balanced Flue)

Gazco was the first UK company to introduce remote controls for gas fires. These Remote Controls are optional and can be purchased from the dropdown box above.

Standard Upgradeable remote control: once the pilot light has been ignited manually you can vary the flame height and heat output from the comfort of your armchair.

Programmable Upgradeable remote control - this deluxe version has two additional features. The first allows you to thermostatically control the room temperature whilst the second allows you to programme your stove to switch itself on and off twice a day. Use both and you can even come home to a glowing fire that has heated the room to the temperature you select.

The fire comes with the standard manual mode of operation which has features such as the manual change of fire temperature and heat output and the manual change of flame height (this allows you to change your fire display to suit your specific needs at any given time).

STOVAX LIMITED AND GAZCO LIMITED SAFEGUARD STATEMENT

Important considerations before making your purchase:

The importance of visiting a Retailer.

Stovax Limited and Gazco Limited take great care to ensure their products are designed and manufactured to the highest possible quality and safety standards, and it is vital that they are sold and installed correctly. Stovax Limited and Gazco Limited recommend that a pre-site survey is carried out prior to purchase to ensure that your chosen appliance will be installed in accordance with all local and national regulations. For this reason, Stovax Limited and Gazco Limited strongly encourage you to visit one of its qualified independent retailers, who will be able to provide you with the best support both before and after making your purchase. Please be aware that Stovax Limited and Gazco Limited do not offer technical support to products bought via nationwide online sales, where a Stovax Limited and/or Gazco Limited qualified independent retailer would otherwise offer this support.

To receive your Extended Warranty your Gazco Electric Stove or Fireplace must have been purchased from an authorised stockist within our Expert Retailer Network and your warranty registered with Gazco within one month of the later of the purchase date or installation date. Accordingly, the commencement date for the warranty period is the date of purchase. During the registration process, the Expert Retailer details will be required for your Extended Warranty to be activated. Any product purchased outside of our Expert Retailer Network will carry a standard 1 Year non-extendable Warranty. If you have recently purchased a Gazco Electric Stove or Fireplace you can register your purchase here.

Warranty Registration

It is a condition of the Extended Warranty that the installation complies with relevant Building Regulations and the rules in force and is carried out in accordance with the Installation Instructions. This warranty is not transferable and is extended only to, and solely for, the benefit of the original purchaser of the Stove or Fireplace. Please retain your dated sales receipt as a proof of purchase.

During your extended warranty period, only genuine Gazco spare parts must be used in the servicing and maintenance of your Stove or Fireplace, these spare parts can be ordered from www.gazcospares.com, or from an Expert Retailer directly. Consumable items such as glass, screens, bulbs, LED boards and batteries which are either subject to normal wear and tear or parts that require replacement in connection with normal maintenance are not covered either by the original or the Extended Warranty.

Should you experience problems with your Stove or Fireplace, any claim must be submitted first to the Expert Retailer from where the stove was purchased, your Expert Retailer will either be able to offer immediate assistance or make contact with Gazco on your behalf.

Warranty Exclusions and Limitations

No Warranty is extended to consumable service parts. Repair or replacement of parts which are subject to normal wear and tear during the warranty period or parts that will require replacement in connection with normal maintenance. Such parts include but are not limited to glass, screens, bulbs, LED boards and batteries. The Gazco Extended Warranty does not cover:

  1. a) Enamelled components where these parts are subjected to abnormally high temperatures, chemical abrasion or thermal shocks, resulting in chipping, cracking, bubbling or discolouration and crazing of the enamelled finish.
  2. b) Damage resulting from installation and usage where the appliance has not been installed or used in accordance with the Gazco installation and operation instructions, or if the installation does not conform to local building, fire and safety regulations.
  3. c) Damage caused by unauthorised modifications, use or repair.

  8. Repaired or replaced products are covered only for the remainder of the original warranty period.
  9. If you should ever wish to make a warranty claim because of a product fault or defect, you must inform your retailer within a reasonable amount of time, usually this is within 14 days from the date on which the fault or defect first became apparent. If the product fault or defect is notified after 14 days from the date on which the fault or defect became apparent, Gazco cannot accept any liability for events or issues which arise after the 14 day period or which are caused or increased by the lack of notification which therefore prevented action being taken to restrict or eliminate any consequences arising from the fault or defect at an earlier date.
  10. In the event of a product fault occurring during the warranty period, Gazco will send the appropriate component or goods necessary to rectify the fault, free of charge. Nothing in the Extended Warranty shall make Gazco liable for any or special, incidental or consequential damages, injury to persons or property, or any other consequential loss beyond the consumer’s statutory rights. 11. Gazco’s total liability extends only to the purchase price paid for the goods, except where such a limitation is prohibited by statute. Gazco, in the event of a warranty claim, reserves the right to either replace the goods in question or to refund the purchase price of the goods.
  12. The Gazco Extended Warranty does not affect your statutory rights.
  13. The above warranty terms and conditions came into effect on 1st May 2013 and are applicable for all relevant products purchased after this date. Appliances despatched prior to this date will have a different warranty as set out within the Installation and User Instructions that was supplied with the product, this was usually a standard 2 year warranty.
  14. Please note: This warranty is applicable for purchases within the United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, France, Belgium and the Netherlands only. Purchases in all other countries are subject to the warranty conditions specified by the reseller in those markets.

Please note that all flues for the Balanced Gas Fires come in a silver/stainless steel construction - if you would prefer the black enamelled version, please call us for a price and availability.

Conventional Flue

Conventional chimneys rely on the natural circulation of the heated air to expel the products of combustion up your chimney and can work with either open or glass-fronted fires.

Balanced Flue

Balanced flues work in conjunction with glass-fronted fires only. The appliance is sealed from the room in which it is installed and a twin-wall pipe vents directly outdoors. Air for combustion is drawn in through the outer pipe whilst the inner pipe removes the combustion gases to the exterior of the property.

Stove Glass Accidental Damage Cover

Replacing damaged stove glass is something most stove owners will be familiar with, be it by closing the door on a protruding log, over-tightening the glass retaining clips or the natural heat expansion of the door, chances are you have had to purchase replacement glass for your wood burning stove at least once.

By adding Glowing Embers' Accidental Damage Cover, you have peace of mind that the potentially costly process of cutting and shipping a replacement glass is covered for when those accidental breakages occur.

Terms & Conditions

Glass Protection covers you for cracked or smashed stove glass for the period of time that you select. We cover you for accidental breakage for any reason for the length of time you selected but doesn't cover for any consequential loss or installation costs. Installation is usually an easy process, and our team can talk you through it. To claim against this protection, simply send us an email prior to the expiration date (either 1 or two years from the purchase date, depending upon which option you pick) with a photo clearly showing your stove with the broken glass. We may require measurements or a template from you to cut the replacement glass accurately and your provision of this when required is conditional on our fulfilment of this protection. The protection covers you for one replacement only within the set period, additional breakages (outside of breakage on delivery which will be covered free of charge) will fall outside of this protection. This only covers flat glass cut by Glowing Embers and does not cover curved or printed glass.
